  • In an interview on CNN's Connect the World, NWP Executive Director Sharon J. Washington encourages the use of digital technology in the classroom in order to give students the skills and experience they need for their education, and their future work.

    • The author was expressing her opinion as well as trying to convince viewers that technology is actually beneficial in the classroom, especially for children
  • The genre of the source
    • This source is a video interview from a news channel (CNN).
  • How the project may have influenced the genre
    • Instead of writing something about this, it was conducted in a video using  TECHNOLOGY since the author is trying to convince us of its advantages on       writing culture
  • How the genre may have influenced the project
    • The fact that this was conducted as an interview and video made it more personal and allowed viewers to really connect with the author (interviewee) and see her genuine views on the topic.
  • Did it succeed?
    • Not sure, I am very controversial on this topic.
  • How this source fit in with the larger “conversation” about your topic
    • This source will benefit me because since our first source, “From Pencils to Pixels: The Stages of Literacy Technology”, was created to INFORM people about the effects of technology on writing. However, this video builds on that by taking a stand and CONVINCING viewers that it is a benefit instead of a problem.

    • Made it very persuasive coming from a professional and educational source. I feel that this is a very credible source.
  • Did it succeed?
    • Yes, I was very convinced
  • How this source fit in with the larger “conversation” about your topic
    • This fits in the larger conversation about my topic because it has the opposing argument that was made by the author in my second source.
